Marc:And it said, from the stars of Pitch Perfect.

Marc:seen such just hey you like this movie these people are in it too what was the what was the movie it's called bride hard bride heart bride hard like walk hard oh okay and uh it has nothing to do with pitch perfect it just happens to star a lot of the people from pitch perfect but like not not not um in the universe
Guest:But it's also, it's not Anna Kent.
Guest:It's not like the star of Pitch Perfect.
Marc:No, it's Rebel Wilson and just a bunch of other people.
Marc:And it's bizarre.
Marc:I've never seen from the stars of ever in a trailer.

Guest:George Coulomb, King George, from the HBO documentary Ren Faire, which we watched over a couple of episodes last year, has died at age 87 and
Guest:Apparently, you know, going off to the afterlife filled with non-artificial breasts that he so desires.
Marc:I mean, look, man, he's probably in hell with a bunch of fake boobs.
Marc:Yeah, yeah.
Marc:Only them.
Guest:Yes.
Guest:No, like I couldn't remember and I did not want to go back and rewatch it.
Guest:But like, didn't he have like a set thing about how his life was going to end?
Guest:Like he knew like to the day.
Guest:Like I'm going to live this much more time.
Guest:Like I really want to know like how far he overshot the target on that.
Marc:Like three years, five years.
Marc:What was the deal?
Marc:Yeah.
Marc:His prophecy.
Marc:And also now I want to know what happens to the Ren Faire.
Guest:Oh, it's finished.

Guest:No, I shouldn't say it's finished.
Guest:You know, we're going to talk a little bit later about like, you know, amusements and, and places that people go for, you know, their enjoyment and leisure and, and like that place, somebody will buy it and they, people go there forever.
Guest:It just won't be that place anymore.
Guest:It'll be a homogenized, whatever.
Guest:And well, you know, people will go to it, but it's, it's not going to have that same kind of cult like community.

Marc:And, uh, that's good because, um, you know, the cult like community is, um, always bad.
Marc:It's always good for watching on a TV show, but I, I didn't think that anybody on that show was really coming out for the better.

Marc:And like, honestly, they're free of this, this tyrant and, uh, I'm so happy for them.

Marc:Seriously, like get off this earth.
Guest:It's like, you know, we had that guest on Jeanette McCurdy who wrote that book.
Guest:I'm glad my mom died or whatever it was like this.
Guest:They should all write their own version of that.
Guest:The people worked at the Ren Faire.
Guest:Oh, thank God.
Guest:King George is dead.
Guest:Speaking of shows that we've talked about before, you know, we've spent a lot of time across multiple shows talking about New York City movies.
Guest:And I think it became kind of so identifiable that you and I, you know, love movies set in New York.
Guest:And, you know, we've had guests on on the main WTF to talk about that, that a couple of months ago, I got a listener reach out to me named Julian, who told me that he and two of his co-workers, they do a podcast is called Sleepless Cinematic Podcasts.
Guest:And the title is because they record it after hours, the only time that they can when they're when they're done with work at this music school that they teach at.
Guest:So usually like the recording start at like nine, 10 o'clock at night and it goes pretty late.
Guest:We were there till like 1 a.m.
Guest:And I say we because Julian invited me on the show knowing that I talk about New York movies so much.
Guest:And they had a series, an episode in a series that they do on like below the line people that work in movies.
Guest:And this was on the cinematographer Owen Roisman, who I think his most famous movie is The Exorcist in terms of movies that he shot.
Guest:and uh but there's three very prominent new york movies that he uh that he's the dp on uh and that's the french connection taking of pelham one two three perfect and network so i went and had the pleasure of watching all three of those movies again because why like that's never a bad time any one of them if you said me go i'll go watch one of those i'd be like what a great assignment
Guest:assignment but i uh i got to go watch all three over the course of a few months because they gave me enough heads up and uh and then we went and talked about it and that podcast just came out so i want to give a shout out to uh julian and his co-hosts madeline and amelio we had a great talk and if you want to check that out it's called sleepless cinematic podcast i'll put a link in the episode description and uh

Marc:Look, I think everyone should probably go see it if they're inclined to.
Marc:If you were on the fence and you were like, maybe I should, maybe I should.
Marc:I would recommend probably not seeing it.
Marc:It is a lackluster finale.
Guest:I mean, I can't believe this in the sense that I can believe that it would be not good.
Guest:I can't believe that it was so not good that you registered it as bad.
Guest:Like I figured it was one of the, like we have a friend, his name is Matt and not Matt Singer, but another friend of ours who, um,
Guest:He says he loves Star Wars so much that he has realized long ago he is an uncritical Star Wars fan.
Guest:If it's the worst Star Wars movie, he will still go to it and enjoy it and leave and be like, I just watched Star Wars.
Guest:It was great, even though it was Attack of the Clones or whatever.
Guest:And he just doesn't think about it that way.
Guest:And I know people that are like that with like, you know, whatever, James Bond.
Guest:It's just like Star Trek.
Guest:They're fans and they're like, I don't care about analyzing this too deeply.
Guest:It brings me happiness.
Guest:I love it.
Guest:You love the Mission Impossible movies.
Guest:Right.
Guest:You love the bad one.
Guest:You love the ones that people generally think are lackluster.
Guest:You're like, no, they're still good.
Guest:You're the same way with Superman.
Guest:Like, I can't imagine you would go to this Superman coming out and be like, no bueno.
Guest:You'll find something that makes you walk out and go, hey, Superman, man, it was great.
Guest:Right?
Guest:Yeah.
Guest:You legit told me this Mission Impossible was bad.
Marc:Yes.

Marc:And look, I am a person who went to the Museum of Moving Image.
Marc:I bought a membership to this place to go to the Mission Impossible exhibit that they have.
Marc:And by the way, it's a fun exhibit.
Marc:It has all the costumes, which I really enjoyed all of Tom Cruise's costumes.
Marc:You get to see them all through the movies.
Marc:And they're all on like a little pedestal.
Marc:So you can tell that, oh, look, I'm probably as tall as Tom Cruise.
Marc:Yeah.
Marc:But it looks like he's taller than me because it's on a little lift there.
Marc:So yeah, that was fun.
Marc:And great exhibit.
Marc:Get to see all the big stunts from all the movies and you get to see behind the scenes stuff.
Marc:Really fun.
Marc:Really like right in my Q zone.
Marc:Yeah.
Marc:This movie...
Marc:That was so disappointing.
Marc:That's crazy.
Marc:I think back to it, and you got to remember, Brendan, this movie, they allegedly shot one right after the other, right?
Marc:Yeah, but I think kind of not, right?

Marc:Yeah, but there was a lot of start and stop.
Marc:Well, so they said at the time that they were 90% done with the second movie, The Final Reckoning.

Marc:But Barbenheimer happened and just ate its lunch, right?
Marc:So the movie like stunk at the box office.
Guest:so and it was like a cliffhanger stunk cliffhanger like box office disappointment not a bomb or anything but it didn't make the money they wanted to make and you've got a cliffhanger that's guaranteeing a continuation of the story and you're you got to sell that now people didn't watch that to the level like you always assume you have a big seat you have a big movie the sequel especially if you have to watch the first one will have just if even if it's
Marc:does great it's gonna have just less than the first one in terms of audience right this movie uh can i you know you just have to remember that there were two strikes that happened right so they they retooled most of the movie and
Marc:And it happened during the writer's strike and during the actor's strike.
Marc:So they had to, like, you know, put the stop and start.
Marc:And you can see the seams on the screen.
Marc:Like, the whole... If you were to go see this, you can just walk in 40 minutes after the movie starts.
Marc:And...
Marc:have not missed a single thing the movie has so many flashbacks to the last movie that you've seen and then later on in the movie there are flashbacks to the same movie that you're watching this seems like this is uh this is a paralysis by analysis like they overthought this like way too much like oh well what
Guest:How do we continue this story if we didn't get as many people watching the last time?
Guest:And now we'll get people in there with these new stunts, but they're not going to follow the story.
Guest:And it's like, guy, nobody fucking cares.
Guest:Like, did you ever go back and watch that diploma mission impossible?
Guest:It's unintelligible.
Guest:There's not a thing that makes sense, but it doesn't matter.
Guest:You're like, yeah, knock list, go get it.
Guest:Go come down from the ceiling and get the knock list.
Guest:I don't know what it is, but you can do spider hanging and get it.
Marc:Yeah.
Marc:Yeah.
Marc:This is like the movie franchise is built on these MacGuffins that don't actually matter, right?
Marc:They're just a thing to, to, so that he can dangle from a building and this and that, right?
Marc:What this movie presupposes is what if all of those MacGuffins actually mattered?
Marc:So now they're all lore.
Marc:Yeah.
Marc:Yes.
Marc:And I'm just like, what this movie could have been an email.
Marc:Like it is, there's one stunt that is amazing, truthfully amazing.
Marc:And it's him in the biplane and stuff, which is awesome and fun, but everything else is just them talking and not even like our, the main characters are never in the same room.
Guest:This is giving me no time to die vibes for me, how you're explaining it.
Guest:That's how that movie felt to me.
Marc:Yeah, and they try to do a swerve with no time to die.
Marc:And it's a thing.
Marc:And there was just a lot of just like head scratching during the movie.
Marc:And it is honestly a fun movie to just nitpick because it is a movie that's filled with holes.
Marc:And yeah, so if you wanna do that and you like doing that,
Marc:there's probably a better way for you to spend three hours.
Marc:It's the longest Mission Impossible movie.
Marc:It's three hours long, Brendan.
Guest:Is this the one where, is this, during which side of production was it where Cruz lost his shit and somebody recorded him flipping out?
Guest:Was that during the making of the first one?
Marc:I think it was the first one.

Guest:I also never knew that that was like a Bob Dylan hangout.

Marc:I mean, and also, and I must admit, I've never heard of Peter Wolfe before in my entire life.

Guest:why who's this guy why are we having him on i was like oh okay from yeah peter wolf from the jay gos band okay i guess that you know mark has done that before where he's like i love this band i want to talk to this guy but i didn't realize that it was going to be so um kind of labyrinthine to the point where it almost he's almost like the kid from almost famous

Guest:Like, like that might, it might as well be his story is that he's just like, yeah, I just wound up hanging out with bands, you know, but at the same time he's an artist himself.
Guest:So it's like got this extra layer.
Marc:Yeah.
Marc:And, and when Mark and Peter were just starting talking and he was like, yeah, I didn't want to talk about the J's J Giles band.
Marc:I was like, well, what the fuck is this book going to be about?
Marc:Like, if it's not going to talk about the band that he's famous for.
Marc:And it turns out there he's, he's stealing wine off of Bob Dylan.
Marc:Like, what is he he called a television station and got Bob Dylan on the phone.

Marc:And then like ran to his apartment that he was invited to.
Marc:Like, what a what a crazy life this guy has led.
Guest:i i uh i liked that he very clearly was extremely moved by the blurb that dylan gave him and and like it meant a lot to him but then also like that was that sold the book for me i'm like yes this bob dylan he's pretty good like

Guest:Like, I'm listening to that blurb and I'm like, wait, Eleanor Roosevelt.
Guest:Like, I don't know.
Guest:I got to get this book.

Guest:Then like off to the side in the kitchen, there is the sink that's... There's plumbing over there because there's a dishwasher...
Guest:So over by where the dishwasher is, there is also a sink.
Guest:It must've been whoever designed that kitchen was like, well, if I've got these, this kitchen stack over here, which, you know, if you, you know, from your own house, like you got those, that's the thing that goes all the way up and is like vented out of your roof.

Guest:And so if they got that over there, why not put a sink?

Guest:So, so he's got a sink over there and I don't know.
Guest:I think that's the one where the cats piss in.

Guest:I'll ask him at some point, but I'm pretty sure that's the one because that's the one I've definitely seen him dump his cat bowls in.
Guest:So I bet the cats smell stuff in there that just makes them go like, well, this is my place.

Marc:And I got to say, when I first got my cats 10 or so years ago, Aaron, my wife, was trying to get them to pee in the toilet.

Marc:But Mark has a lovely cat who uses the toilet, a.k.a.

Guest:The cat we had years ago, he was so picky about the litter box that if it had one thing in it, he wouldn't use it.

Guest:You know, you just sit next to it and piss.

Guest:I'd be like, I'm not sure we can live here anymore.
Guest:Like this smells, I don't like it.
Guest:There was, when we lived in another apartment, uh, we kept the, there was a, the, the, the bathroom had a shower and a tub.
Guest:So we kept the, uh,
Guest:you know, it's like a standup shower and then a separate tub.
Guest:The tub was old and we didn't like it.
Guest:So we didn't use it.
Guest:We just used the shower.
Guest:So we kept the litter box in the tub.
Guest:Yeah.
Guest:Well, he would go in there and piss in the tub.
Guest:Like, and so you'd,
Guest:like constantly walk in the bathroom and be like, oh, it stinks in here.
Guest:And it's because then it's just like kind of slowly going down the drain.
Guest:It's in there, right?
Guest:So we got three litter boxes
Guest:Basically, I shouldn't have even gotten a litter box.
Guest:I should have just put a liner in the tub and filled the tub with litter.
Guest:But instead, we got three litter pans and made them so there was no space to walk in the tub.
Guest:And then he just had to piss directly in the box.
Guest:And that worked.
Guest:But then once we moved and had the box out in the open, he was just back to going right next to it.
Guest:And it was like, again, we would, oh no, is he's pissing out of the box?
Guest:Is he sick?
Guest:Does he have this or that?
Guest:He's fine.
Guest:Nope.
Guest:He's just picky.
Guest:He doesn't like that you didn't clean the litter box right away.

Guest:His brother took him to see it at town, them at town hall.

Guest:He was like, it was the greatest like ever.
Guest:So like I, I started like, Oh, you just mean Jack Black, like that actor who's, you know, they, the thing they used to do on Mr. Show, they're like doing that for real now.

Guest:And I was obsessed with it before the album even came out.
Guest:I had been watching all these live performances that they've been doing.
Guest:I think I just really got into the fact that I couldn't believe that Kyle was such a great guitarist.

Guest:And so, yeah, I was so psyched when that album came out and they toured for it that the closest one I could get to was in Baltimore.
Marc:So I drove down to it.
Guest:awesome awesome yeah i i saw them where the supersonics used to play uh in no way yeah yeah that was that was pretty cool like that was probably around the same time in uh you know 2001 that's or maybe 2000 no it's definitely 2001 because yeah the album came out 2001 it could have even been 2002 like it was into that year yeah i remember going to see them at a in-store performance at the virgin megastore

Guest:You had a licensing fee to be in the listening station and you got a cut of however much was played while that, you know, during that week.

Guest:a at the closest comparison is space mountain but space mountain is much longer right there's much more uh coaster track to space mountain in the dark the mummy is uh a coaster a kind of like
Guest:prelim coaster that brings you through the tombs and whatever and then you go into the darkness and spiral around and do the space mountain thing but for like about a third of the length of time as space mountain all right it sounds like skull mountain from great six flags great adventure okay
Guest:Not familiar with that one, but okay.
Guest:Yeah.
Guest:I mean, it's a dark coaster.
Guest:Dark coasters are... You have them at a carnival.
Guest:Yeah.
Marc:I don't love them.
Marc:They're not my favorite coasters, honestly.
Guest:But I'll tell you, the Mummy's really great because they... Okay, so here's another thing about this.
Guest:Like...
Guest:The Mummy is a kind of perfect integration of coaster and theme park attraction.
Guest:How so?
Guest:Well, because it's a coaster.
Guest:It's like I say, there's a standard format for that type of coaster, dark ride coaster.
Mm-hmm.
Guest:But it's themed to this movie, right?
Guest:The old mummy, the mummy with Brendan Fraser.
Guest:And so there's a lot of cool, like, you know, special effects that you expect in a theme park, but still integrated into the coaster.
Guest:Like you're riding on the track and you go through like a tomb area and all these like scarab beetles are on the wall chasing you.
Guest:And then you got to zoom out of there and then, you know, down through some area where there's flames and fire and whatever.
Yeah.
Guest:So that's all really great.
Guest:And it made me realize, and I'll, you know, kind of put it to you in terms of, while I'm talking about this, you think about like rides, like what you think of rides.
Guest:I think, I've loved rides my whole life.
Guest:I'm a, I'm a coaster, it was a coaster kid.
Guest:Like I like going on coasters, never been afraid of rides.
Guest:And
Guest:I got to a point in life where like, I wanted to go to coaster parks, right?
Guest:Like go to the parks that are like predominantly feature coasters.
Guest:Six Flags, a good example.
Guest:The one that's here in this area, the New York, the New Jersey one is, it's a coaster park.
Guest:There's one out in California, Six Flags.
Guest:I don't know if it's still there, but it was called, what the fuck is the name of that?
Marc:That's the one that Step by Step's intro was.
Marc:And Entourage.
Guest:It was Six Flags Magic Mountain.
Guest:Magic Mountain.
Guest:Six Flags Magic Mountain.
Guest:That's right.
Guest:In Valencia, California.
Guest:It's about an hour north of LA.
Guest:And that one had just amazing coasters.
Guest:But I'll tell you what.
Guest:There was a coaster there.
Guest:I'm not even sure it's still there.
Guest:I think they modified it.
Guest:A bit.
Guest:They're a great coaster.
Guest:They're called the Goliath that for a while was like the record highest coaster drop, whatever.
Guest:That's another good example of like, okay, so I did that.
Guest:The highest coaster drop.
Guest:Then I did a ride.
Guest:They're called the X, the X coaster.
Guest:And,
Guest:And the idea of the X coaster was you sat in chairs, not unlike your beloved AMC Rick Miners.
Guest:Okay.
Guest:And they're strapped into that.
Guest:And you start going up the track backwards.
Guest:The track is backwards.
Guest:Yes.
Guest:The track is next to your chairs.
Guest:Right.
Guest:So your chairs are like picture like a bolt coming off each side of the track.
Guest:And on each of those bolts are two easy chairs kind of just hanging.
Guest:Right.
Guest:And you're going up backwards.
Guest:Right.
Guest:So then it gets to the top of the peak.
Right.
Guest:And goes over.
Guest:So you, in your chair, that is on this bolt, go ass over tea kettle.
Marc:Get the fuck out of here.
Guest:So that now your feet go up in the air, you flip over, and now as the thing is what a normal coaster does, go down, you are going down like...
Guest:face first like you're free falling like exactly exactly how and then it swoops you up and you feel like it's exhilarating i'm flying is crazy right awesome that basically ruined coasters for me because you'll never again like yeah like like what is what more can you do yeah that was the craziest shit i've ever done yeah now now i just went back to the ride that they told me was the highest coaster drop in the world and i'm like
Guest:But I was just on the easy chair that flipped me over and I thought I was going to die.
Guest:Like, how, how does this compare?
Guest:And so, you know, and it's the same thing.
Guest:Like you can like this, like if you've been on the cyclone, which we were just talking about, we have a million times.
Guest:It's like, that's the simple version of that X thing.
Guest:It's like you go on that cyclone and it's this, Mark was even talking about it on, on the other day.
Guest:It's this tight cyclone.
Guest:very compact coaster, but there's a lot of track.
Guest:So it just keeps going.
Guest:You're like, how is this still going?
Guest:And it's cause it's like turning in on itself, right?
Guest:There's like track within the track and it's just whipping you around.
Guest:It's so fucking fast and it's rickety and it just, you think you,
Guest:could die that's part of the like experience of it you're like this seems dangerous like oh my god like it's controlled chaos and it's just very hard for me to go on another like regular coaster i'm like i got the cyclone you know a 20 minute subway ride away from me door to door so back to the mummy
Guest:It's like they have certain rides in amusement parks, and The Mummy is the good version of this at the Universal one.
Guest:But Disney's got great versions of this too, where they take the traditions of these rides and keep those intact because that's what you want.
Guest:You want the traditional thrill you get from the ride.
Guest:And then the stuff that's additive, it's like it's their...
Guest:as a bonus.
Guest:It's not taking away from that traditional thing.
Guest:And Universal, my problem with Universal in general is that the coasters are all the modern ones, all the ones they keep adding.
Guest:They just today are opening this new park, right?
Guest:I'll have to find out about some of these coasters because I wonder, are they all going in this direction?
Guest:The last time I went there, those Harry Potter rides, they're amazing.
Guest:They're state-of-the-art rides.
Guest:But...
Guest:They're like mixed with these 3D screens.
Guest:You have glasses on.
Guest:The holograms, they come onto your coaster car and throw fireballs at you and stuff.
Guest:It's Voldemort and it overwhelms the ride.
Guest:And I'm like, I'm on a coaster.
Guest:Just let me be on here.
Guest:And I realized like the last time I went to Disney World,
Guest:The great rides still were great.
Guest:Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain.
Guest:They all killed.
Guest:And it wasn't just like a nostalgia thing because I went on plenty of things there that had gone on when I was a kid.
Guest:Peter Pan and Small World.
Guest:And then I was like, I think that's the last time for these, man.
Guest:The pixie dust has worn off on this stuff.
Guest:But the ones that are classic...
Guest:in the form remain that.
Guest:And the newer rides that are true to the concepts of those old rides, those were the best ones.
Guest:So like people talk about this one at the new Star Wars area, the Rise of the Resistance.
Marc:They say it's the best ever.
Guest:it's great and it's basically the haunted mansion but just with crazy new star wars lore right you but you you know it's like the the upgrades to it are amazing you're no longer on a track it's like a system that is magnets under the ground so you don't see any track on the ground you just look like you're you look like you're one of those uh transport robots you know that dirt dirt dirt
Guest:like, you know, just kind of floating around, but the tracks underneath you, you can't see it.
Guest:It's just like, how's that any different though than the haunted mansion, which brings you on a track through the spooky house, right?
Guest:This, you're just on the track going through the, the bad guy spaceship and then like, Oh no, they're shooting at us.
Guest:Right.
Guest:So it's the same concept and,
Guest:And that registers in your brain.
Guest:This is familiar to me, but modern, right?

Guest:The same thing with the guardians of the galaxy has a new coaster.
Guest:That coaster is like the mummy.
Guest:It's a dark ride.
Guest:It's like space mountain.
Guest:You're in a dark coaster.
Guest:It does cool new things.
Guest:Like you're, you're in these two, two cars.
Guest:Like let's say you go on with the family, right.
Guest:And you're sitting next to each other.
Guest:Yeah.
Guest:Because it goes in the dark, but everything's got like black light.
Guest:So you still see your family and the track and whatever.
Guest:Yeah.
Guest:all of a sudden they, you, you, you guys split and you don't realize that the track has split.
Guest:It just looks like your two cars are just floating away in space as you're going on this very fast track.
Guest:It's a cool effect, but that's an effect that works with the coaster.
Guest:It's not because I put 3d glasses on, like with the, and I'm now looking at the whomping willows that look like they're reaching out at me.
Guest:Right.
Guest:Yeah.
Guest:Like they should be integrated into the ride.
Guest:And like,
Guest:That's the best part of it.
Guest:And so all of this is to say, like, I think Sam Rockwell is on his ride game.
Guest:Like he knew like he could have picked anything.
Marc:He was like, we're going on the mummy, man.
Marc:Totally.
Marc:Yeah, that's great.
Marc:And honestly, I need recommendations because I do want to take a vacation.
Marc:I think I want to take a roller coaster vacation.
Marc:So like I want to like maybe go to Disney, maybe go to this Universal thing.
Marc:Like, I don't know.
Guest:Well, I'll tell you the roller coaster vacation, though, if you're not looking for like theme park rides, apparently like and I've never been to it.
Guest:I had always wanted to go and just never able to go to it.
Guest:But the forever, the one that's talked about is like the roller coaster park in America is Cedar Point.
Guest:In Sandusky, Ohio.
Guest:Oh.
Guest:That's, like, apparently, like, the greatest ever.
Guest:Really?
Guest:Okay.
Guest:Yeah.
Guest:All right.
Guest:Like, if you... I don't know what else is near Sandusky, Ohio.
Guest:I just know, like... So I don't know how it, like, works as, like, a destination thing.
Guest:Like, I don't know.
Guest:Maybe you want to factor it into a trip to Cleveland and you go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or something.
Marc:I don't know.
Guest:But, like...
Marc:That's the one that everybody always points to.
Marc:Okay.
Marc:I don't know if Aaron's going to be game.
Marc:I mean, we do for some reason have family out in Cleveland.
Marc:So maybe we do tack this on.
Marc:One of my nephews actually going out school there.
Marc:Maybe I'll just take them to Cedar Point and have a day doing roller coasters with them.
Guest:That's it.

Guest:That's your rollercoaster capital of America.
Marc:By the way, I love that Mark, not a rollercoaster fan, right?
Marc:And he said that, oh, you know, one of his exes was a rollercoaster fan.
Marc:And I'm thinking, well, of course she loves rollercoasters.
Marc:She married one.
Marc:Doesn't every woman he date like rollercoasters?
Guest:Like, I can't think of a person that would be described as a human rollercoaster more than Mark.
Guest:Like, like.
Guest:Like, that is the ride, right?
Guest:That should just be his, like, song as he walks into the room is the rollercoaster of love.
Guest:Yes.

Marc:It's like, oh, look, here's the pre-show.

Guest:on the books for a vacation that you had previously talked about.
Guest:Do you want to tell everybody about that?
Marc:Yeah, I've planned another trip.
Marc:Again, for some reason, it happens to land on Super Bowl Sunday week, which is bizarre to me.
Marc:But anyway, my wife and I, we're going on an African safari.
Guest:Amazing.
Marc:Yeah.
Marc:It's our 10 year anniversary.
Marc:We planned on either going to an African safari for our honeymoon.
Marc:We opted to go to Thailand and Vietnam instead.
Marc:So yeah, we're going to an African safari.
Marc:I can't wait.
Marc:It is very exciting.
Guest:I'm so thrilled for you.
Guest:It's like one of the top things in the world that you can do.
Marc:And like reading all about it is great.
Marc:Like just reading about like the top five or the big five that they call it.
Marc:By the way, the big five has one of these things is not like the other.
Marc:There's lions.
Marc:Okay, great.
Marc:There's cheetahs.
Marc:Awesome.
Marc:Elephants.
Marc:Fantastic.
Marc:Rhinos.
Marc:Number four.
Marc:Coming in at number five are buffaloes.
Marc:What are we doing with buffaloes?
Marc:Why are they in the big five, guys?
Guest:But like, what kind of buffalo?
Marc:An African buffalo.
Marc:There's nothing else to it.
Marc:It's the same, you know, it's a different species, I guess, than the American buffalo.
Marc:But it's like, I'm pretty sure giraffes with like a word.
Marc:You know, like, what are we doing?
Guest:They don't get called wildebeests.
Guest:Isn't that what it, like, it's just like a same thing, like a bison?
Marc:Fucking buffalo.
Marc:Yeah.
Marc:Like, I'm going to be seeing Timon and Pumbaa, and they're not in the top five or big five, but a goddamn buffalo is.
Marc:Like, I don't know.
Marc:Buffaloes don't have any personality for me.
Guest:Well, I do know, just based on what I'm seeing here, that the buffalo is the most dangerous animal of the Big Five.
Guest:How's that possible?
Marc:I don't know.
Marc:I mean, have you seen a lion rip off?
Marc:That's what I'm thinking.
Guest:Yeah, I don't want to be anywhere near that.
Marc:How are buffalo more dangerous than that?
Marc:I mean, maybe to humans, but yeah, I don't know.
Marc:We're going to have fun, and it's going to be exciting, and a trip like no other.
